Blog #1 - Introduction
My name is Cristina Kopels. Welcome to my blog! I am a sophomore from Boca Raton, Florida and my major is Special Education Teaching. Some of my favorite things to do are going to the beach, finding new books to read, and learning how to cook new recipes. Recently I've become a fan of hockey, specifically the Florida Panthers and got to go to a game over Christmas break. I have enjoyed my time at FSU so far and cannot wait to see what new skills I learn in this class.
I feel like throughout highschool and my time in college so far, I have used technology in educational settings. I took a class last semester called EDF1005: Intro to Education and used a lot of different online resources for projects in that class. For example, one project was to create our own lesson and teach it to our peers. A lot went into creating the lesson. I used PowerPoint, found online handouts, and looked to Youtube for inspiration. Other sources I have used before include Canva and Jamboard.
My Personal Learning Network has definitely been affected by Covid and I have become more comfortable using resources online like Zoom. A majority of my freshman year in college was online, so I had to get really familiar with shifting from in person to online classes. Canvas and Outlook are also super helpful me to use in order to reach my academic goals. They ensure that I have a schedule of assignments to stay on task as well as communicate with professors.
Hello! I love your introduction, it's so cute! We have the same major! I love special education, it is definitely my passion so it is awesome to see someone who shares the same interests as me. I am also excited to see what skills I learn in this class, and I have enjoyed my time at fsu as well. I also took EDF 1005 and used various online resources as well. My personal learning network has been effected by covid as well, and I really hope we don't go back to being online. I enjoyed reading your first post!
ReplyDeleteHi Cristina! Great post. I am taking Intro to Education this semester, so it was cool to hear that you learned with different online resources in this class. I am looking forward to seeing how this class and the intro class will connect in some ways. It is also really cool that you are majoring in Special Education. I was also thinking about majoring in that as well.
