I have actually had a lot of experience using Twitter! Apart from the account I use for educational purposes, I have a personal Twitter that I have used since high school. On my personal account, I like to use Twitter to keep up with news, sports, and entertainment. For example, I follow accounts like ESPN and SportsCenter for updates in football, basketball, and hockey. On my account for school, I follow accounts that relate to my intended major, Special Education. I think Twitter is a great tool that could be used to further help me in my future career. Not only can I connect with similar individuals but I can stay up to date with the latest information and even job openings and opportunities!
The digital divide is definitely still a prevalent issue in society today. The digital divide can be described as the gap between underprivileged citizens who do not have access to the internet and those who do. I think as time progresses, schools are moving towards a more tech-friendly environment. I remember in high school, students were required to have both a laptop and an iPad. There may be so many issues that plague today's students. They might not have the money to afford a laptop or may have issues with connectivity and are unable to complete homework. I would try my best, as a future educator, to take into account what my students' situations are and figure out how best to help them. No student should be penalized if they are unable to afford items for school.
There is so much academic software that I have been exposed to as a student that I would most definitely want to implement in my own classroom. Kahoot is one that I would love to use! Kahoot is like an educational game that is used to quiz students on concepts learned in class. I think Kahoot creates healthy competition and is a fun way to make sure that students are retaining the information they are learning in class. I also think Google Classroom is a helpful tool that I would implement in my classroom. I would classify it as a smaller version of Canvas. Teachers can post announcements, polls, and pose questions. Students can turn in work, comment on other students' posts, and ask teachers for help. It is just a great way to keep a class super organized.
You did great for the Kahoot game for the copyright knowledge check! I would think about other topics we can do using Kahoot! :) I think it is more prevalent in K-12 education settings. However, I feel this tool can be used in higher education settings to engage learners.
